Veterans for America First (VFAF) Endorses Raymond Tyler McKay for the United States Senate in Rhode Island
Veterans for America First (VFAF), the original 2015 Veterans for Trump grassroots organization, proudly announces its endorsement of Raymond Tyler McKay in his campaign for the United States Senate representing Rhode Island. McKay is a declared Republican candidate for the U.S. Senate seat currently held by Senator Jack Reed.
The endorsement reflects VFAF's continued commitment to supporting veteran candidates and constitutional conservatives who have demonstrated a lifetime of military service, public service, and grassroots leadership.
A native of Providence and resident of Warwick, Raymond Tyler McKay honorably served in the United States Army from 1981 through 1992, attaining the rank of Sergeant. During his military career, he performed electronic maintenance on the Pershing Nuclear Missile System while stationed in West Germany and later completed training as a 74F Computer Programmer at Fort Gordon, Georgia. He is also a Distinguished Honor Graduate of the Basic Non-Commissioned Officer Course at Fort Sill, Oklahoma. His military service earned him an Army Commendation Medal, three Army Achievement Medals, and three Army Good Conduct Medals.
Following his military service, McKay dedicated 26 years to the City of Warwick, serving as Network and Telecommunications Manager and Administrator, overseeing critical municipal communications and information technology systems.
For more than two decades, McKay has been active in Rhode Island's conservative grassroots movement. Since 2000, he has volunteered on local, state, and national campaigns while also serving as a campaign manager in select Rhode Island races. He previously served as President of the Rhode Island Republican Assembly (RIRA) from 2005 through 2014, organizing nationally attended endorsement conventions representing organizations from 22 states while expanding candidate recruitment and fundraising efforts.
McKay has also maintained a longstanding commitment to community service as a member of Elks Lodge #2285 since 2000. He is the father and stepfather of four children, grandfather of thirteen grandchildren, and continues to be active in civic and community affairs throughout Rhode Island.
His educational background includes studies at Saint Raphael Academy, Hope High School, Cameron University, Great Plains Technology Center, the University of Maryland Overseas Campus, and the New England Institute of Technology.
Veterans for America First believes Raymond Tyler McKay's record of military leadership, public-sector experience, and grassroots political involvement reflects the principles of service, accountability, and constitutional governance that the organization seeks to promote. His campaign for the United States Senate offers Rhode Island voters the opportunity to elect a veteran with decades of leadership experience in both military and civilian service.
