At the forefront of the effort is Texas Vet Force Leader Kimberly Taiko Moyers, a U.S. veteran and seasoned responder, who, alongside a dedicated team of veteran volunteers, mobilized quickly to assist impacted communities. In the early days of the disaster, Moyers and her team delivered seven fully loaded trucks and three trailers of critical supplies, bringing relief to families in desperate need. Operations were headquartered at VFW Post 8800 in Startzville, which became the only functioning distribution center in the region during the height of the flooding. The post served as a lifeline for the surrounding community, thanks to the leadership and coordination of Vet Force on the ground.
“Our veterans are trained to respond under pressure. When Americans hurt, our Veterans step up. That’s why Kimberly Taiko Moyers and her team are on-site in Texas, coordinating aid efforts,” said CPT Robert M. Cornicelli, USARNG (Ret.) / Navy Veteran and national president for VFAF.
As the mission evolved, the focus shifted from distribution to a more sobering task—body recovery. Moyers provided a somber video update from the field, documenting the devastation and reaffirming the commitment of VFAF’s veteran-led teams to serve where others cannot.
Moyers also serves through Project Defiant, continuing her work to support the Texas community and champion veteran-related legislation nationwide.
VFAF's Vet Force, inaugurated in January 2025, is modeled after the "Trump Force 47" campaign initiative. It mobilizes veterans, law enforcement, and patriotic civilians into tactical volunteer teams deployed for emergency relief, public safety advocacy, voter education, youth mentoring, and support for America First policies.
The impact of the Texas mission extended beyond state lines. Jen Charlton, VFAF National Ambassador and host of The Jen Charlton Show on WFMD AM in Maryland, coordinated Maryland-based relief efforts in support of the Texas operation. Charlton leveraged her emergency management background and media network to gather and direct supplies to Moyers' team. Working alongside Fred Propheter of the Frederick County Conservative Club, Charlton ensured a steady flow of aid from Maryland to the field teams in Texas.
VFAF emphasized that it is a self-funded, all-volunteer organization, stating clearly: "We need supplies, not money." All donations were routed through local VFW posts, with monetary collections paused after July 6.
The unified response from veteran leaders, conservative grassroots organizations, and patriotic Americans reflects the core mission of VFAF: to serve the nation with honor, resilience, and unwavering commitment to the American people.
