STOLEN VALOR: Angie Wong and Butch Conz Impersonate Veterans for America First Leadership, Mislead Public
Angie Wong, Republican Committeewoman for Miami District 17, and Butch Conz of North Carolina are being condemned for their unauthorized and misleading actions that impersonate the national Veterans for America First (VFAF.US) organization and its leadership. Both individuals falsely claim to represent VFAF, a reputable group led by decorated combat veterans and officers, and are engaging in activities that undermine the credibility of the veteran community.
Unauthorized Representation and Misleading Actions
Wong and Conz have created a fraudulent narrative, impersonating both the national VFAF and its Georgia and North Carolina state chapters. This includes operating a cloned website and issuing unauthorized endorsements under the VFAF banner. These actions are a blatant case of Stolen Valor—misrepresenting oneself as affiliated with or endorsed by a legitimate veterans' organization without serving in the military or having any legitimate connection.
A petition to remove Angie Wong from office has been launched on Change.org: Sign the Petition.
Misrepresentation of Credentials and Endorsements
Wong falsely declared herself the "President of Georgia Veterans for America First" during her campaign for a GOP seat, a title she has since scrubbed from her social media but continues to leverage unofficially. She and Conz have endorsed candidates such as Reagan Box and Ed Durr without any authorization from VFAF. Reagan Box, a grassroots Senate candidate, severed ties after discovering the duo’s lack of legitimacy.
Ed Durr, a former New Jersey state senator, has also received an unauthorized endorsement from Wong and Conz for his potential 2026 gubernatorial campaign. Durr, who previously endorsed Wong, is now facing ethical questions due to a potential fundraising arrangement with Wong.
A Pattern of Deceptive Behavior
Wong and Conz are not veterans and have no legitimate ties to VFAF. Despite this, they continue to make false claims, troll the official VFAF organization, and spread misinformation. They have also used social media to harass former VFAF team members and engage in defamatory campaigns.
Butch Conz has a documented criminal history, including felony arrests (source), while Wong’s public record includes frivolous litigation, accusations of evidence tampering, and financial misappropriation, including allegations from her own family (source).
Fraudulent Contracts and Fund Misappropriation
A recently surfaced audio recording reveals Wong authored a contract with the New Federal State of China (NFSC), diverting funds for personal use. This contradicts Wong’s long-standing false accusations against former VFAF leadership, including Stan Fitzgerald, whom the evidence exonerates.
Impact on the Veteran Community
The deceptive actions of Wong and Conz are a disservice to the veteran community, undermining trust and causing harm to an organization dedicated to supporting America’s 18 million veterans. Their rhetoric and actions have even led to threats against VFAF members, further highlighting the danger of their impersonation.
Call to Action
Veterans and supporters are urged to stand united against the misuse of the VFAF name by Wong and Conz. The community must reject their false claims, unauthorized endorsements, and defamatory campaigns.
To protect the integrity of VFAF and its mission, it is crucial to hold Angie Wong and Butch Conz accountable. Veterans and supporters are encouraged to distance themselves from Wong (@AngieWong) and Conz (@TheButchConz) and report any further misrepresentation.
Together, we can preserve the honor and reputation of Veterans for America First and its mission to advocate for our nation’s heroes.
