Admiral Charles Kubic, Retired Rear Admiral of the Seabees, Named VFAF Hero of the Month – April 2025

Retired Rear Admiral Chuck Kubic, of the Navy Civil Engineer Corps, has been named VFAF Hero of the Month for April 2025. Following an accomplished 32-year military career, Admiral Kubic founded Kubic Engineer Group (KEG) in February 2012. Prior to this, he served as President of ECC International from 2005 onward. KEG provides engineering services across the globe, including in contingency and remote environments. Between 2017 and 2021, KEG played a crucial role in constructing 145 miles of Border Wall across California, Arizona, New Mexico, and Texas.

Admiral Kubic's distinguished service in the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps includes commanding Navy Seabees at every level—Company, Detachment, Battalion, Regiment, Brigade, and Division. From 2002 to 2004, he concurrently commanded the 1st Naval Construction Division and the 1st Marine Expeditionary Force Engineer Group during Operation Iraqi Freedom—an experience he later chronicled in his book Bridges to Baghdad.

In 2016, Kubic was appointed as a National Security Policy Advisor to then-presidential candidate Donald Trump and was later named to Trump’s National Security Advisory Council. He was a vocal supporter of the “Peace through Strength” doctrine, representing the campaign in media interviews, at the Republican National Convention in Cleveland, and through a series of policy papers and strategic briefings. With deep experience in both national security and international business, he remains a respected voice on U.S. defense and foreign policy. Earlier in his career, he was selected as a White House Fellow in 1985, serving on President Ronald Reagan’s Domestic Policy Council.

Admiral Kubic holds both a Bachelor and Master of Science in Civil Engineering from Lehigh University, where he graduated at the top of his class in 1972. He also completed the Advanced Management Program at the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, in 1995. In 2011, Lehigh University awarded him an honorary Doctorate of Engineering. He is a licensed Professional Engineer in Pennsylvania and Virginia and a Fellow of the Society of American Military Engineers. Among his many honors, he is a Phi Beta Kappa member and the 2013 recipient of the Sigma Phi Epsilon Citation Award for lifetime achievement.

In 2024, he was named a Distinguished Eagle Scout. A dedicated supporter of youth development, he recently served as President of the Tidewater Virginia Scouting America Council and sits on the Board of Directors for the Adelphoi Foundation, which supports at-risk youth. In his free time, Admiral Kubic enjoys skiing, scuba diving, golfing, and international travel. He currently serves as the National Spokesman for Veterans for America First.
